Plan Properly for the Kids This New Year

The New Year is Here – Plan Properly for the Kids

The holiday is over.  Back to school, back to work, homework, sports, meals and the list goes on.  How do you fit it all in? Did you also make the resolution to be more organized this year?  What is the answer?

Take time to plan properly for the kids this new year. For some reason the Spring always seem to be so much busier than the fall. Is it because the weather gets warmer and less things are canceled.  I really cannot say.   I can say that if the calendar is not filled out at the beginning of the month and checked at the beginning of each week, you find yourself racing to an activity for the kids that somehow was missed.  Or worse, calling friends and family to fill in for you.

How to plan properly for the kids this year

A great answer is an erasable calendar and different colored markers.  Each child and each activity has a separate color. It takes time.  The result less stress because you can plan alternate rides if activities overlap.  No last minute calls for help.

What’s for snack? What’s for dinner?  These can be tough questions.  I came across a website recently that seems to be good for quick easy 30 minute meals.  Check out www.momswhothink.com. The site offers a variety of options for moms as well as articles on other related topics.  Of course, there is nothing better than make ahead meals.  Prep the big stuff on the weekend and the rest of the week is a breeze.

Furthermore, if you are on the PTA you need to schedule time to plan your Holiday Gift Shop Fundraisers for Schools. Don’t wait until the last minute!

In conclusion, remember the old saying, “Plan your work and then work your plan.” This also applies to scheduling everything you need to do as a mom to take care of  your children.

Finally, remember that the more you can plan. .. The easier the week.

So, how do you organize your busy weeks?  So, start today. Because this is the year to be organized.
